CIED Lead Management CME Roundtable™ Series

Educational Awareness Solutions (EAS) and Global Education Group (Global) are pleased to present Time to Take the Lead: Partnering with Your Patients for Proactive CIED Lead Management, a CME-accredited dinner meeting series designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiologists and other healthcare providers involved in cardiology who assess and manage patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices.

Implantation of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) has dramatically increased over the past decade. Such devices have become established therapeutic modalities in the cardiovascular care of patients with bradycardia, tachycardia and heart failure. Technological advances have been made, allowing patients to live longer; however, cardiac devices and their associated leads require ongoing management and maintenance as a result. Importantly, capped leads act as a source of infection. The therapeutic landscape for CIED lead management is rapidly evolving; yet there remains an unmet need for awareness among healthcare professionals and patients.

Activity

Cardiology specialists will deliver a 1.5-hour interactive program including a slide presentation and Question-and-Answer session. All participants will receive online access to a Participant Syllabus containing slides, faculty biographies, disclosures, all relevant CME information, and a program evaluation form. This activity provides an opportunity to earn 2.0 CME AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.

Objectives

Our goal is to equip providers with the latest approaches to CIED lead management and extraction, helping them to be more confident in their ability to refer patients to the proper specialist in order to prevent serious, and possibly life-threatening complications.
This activity is supported by an educational grant from Philips IGT-D.
